“ Great BBQ place, probably some of the best bbq I've had in Oregon recently. The staff were super friendly. And the place is itself is big and comfortable. Plus they have an old school arcade machine and a pinball machine. Definitely worth stopping if you're driving through Lostine or staying the night there. ”

“ Omg, the BEST brisket ever!!! I’m usually not one to like brisket because if it’s not prepared and cooked right, it’s usually dry but not this place! The brisket is so tender and juicy!!! The fat on it literally melts in your mouth! We ordered the combo with 3 meats and 3 sides and it fed our family. The meal is well priced and the customer service was awesome! “ Hubby and I split the double combo platter. We chose brisket and pulled pork, beans and cole slaw and two different sauces - all of it was delicious! It also came with two tiny rolls so I regretted not ordering more bread. Service was friendly and attentive. The rustic building is really cool. I imagine it can get loud in here though when there are more than a few people talking. ”

Z’s BBQ pulled pork and ribs were so delicious all by themselves but the variety of house-made sauces took it all to the next level. The owner was super friendly and the food comes almost immediately after you order because it’s been cooking all day. Z’s also has a great atmosphere because it’s located in the historic Lostine Tavern. I highly recommend Z’s. It’s absolutely worth the drive if you are staying in Joseph or up at the lake! ”

“ Absolutely a must stop. We were visiting Joseph for the first time from Portland for a little getaway trip, staying on a farm in Lostine. After a long day of kayaking on the wallowa lake, shopping down town Joseph and chatting with locals at alpine fest, we found our way to the Lostine Tavern for an end to a killer day. It did not disappoint. The vibe is very chill and relaxed. Extremely welcoming with the most tender beef rib we’ve had/found in a long time. What a gem we found tucked away in eastern Oregon. We even took a Togo order to have some left overs as we head over to our campsite. Give some love if you’re in the area! ”
